Temperature: 350 ° F
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. hot water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. lemon extract
Instructions
Cream sugar and shortening for 2 minutes. Beat eggs in one at a time. Mix soda and hot water, set aside. Add flour, salt and buttermilk alternately until all are mixed together. Stir in lemon and soda and water mixture just before baking. Bake for one hour and twenty minutes in Kaiser La Forme Charlotte Bundform. Serve warm with light sprinkle of powdered sugar.
