Healthy Mocha Swirl Pound Cake recipe

Temperature: 350 ° F

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. & 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2c. unsweetened apple sauce
  • 2teaspoon  vinnila
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon  baking soda
  • 1 cup & 3-5 Tablespoon milk
  • 6Tablespoon  cocoa
  • 3 Tablespoon finley ground coffee
  • 1Tablespoon  cold coffee
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2cups powder sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven and grease your american bundform.
Cream 1/2 cup of butter and granulated sugar together.
beat in apple sauce, vinnila and eggs one at a time. beat for 3min scraping bowl.
stir in flour alternating with 1cup of the milk, add baking soda and stir untill smooth.
Divide batter, in half the batter stir the cold coffee and finly graound coffee. In the other half stir 4 Tablespoons of cocoa, mini chocolate chips, and 2Tablespoon of the milk.
Pour the coffee batter in to the american bund form and spread so that it is even. Pour the chocolate batter on top of the coffe batter and marble slightly.
Bake cake at 350degrees for 35-45min. Untill when a tooth pick inserted in to the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool for 3-5 min, then CAREFULY flip cake on to a plate or serving platter.
Now it is time to make your warm browned butter glaze, but if you want this cake to be extra healthy it is best to leave it off. But hey who can resist a warm chocolate browned butter glaze?
Heat 1/4 butter in a small-med. pot over med. heat, untill delicate brown. stir in 2cups powdered sugar and vinnila and 2 tablespooons of cocoa. stir in 2-3 tablespoons of milk 1 teaspoon at a time untill smooth and the consistancy you want.
Pour glaze over warm cake then slice and enjoy warm. ENJOY!
this cake is healthy beacaues I halved the butter and replaced it with apple sauce, also I decreased the sugar.
