Ingredients
- 6 cups flour
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 envelope)
- 2 cups very warm water (120 degrees)
- 2 Tablespoons soft butter
Instructions
In a large bowl, beat on low until just mixed: 2 cups of flour, the sugar, the salt and the yeast. Add: the water and the butter and beat on high for 3 minutes. Add: 1/2 cup of flour then beat on high for 4 more minutes. Now: Stir in 3 cups of flour to make a soft dough, turn out on a floured board and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a large buttered bowl and turn to coat. Cover with a towel and let rise 1 hour away from drafts in a warm place. Punch down. Cut in half. Place in 2 KAISER BAKEWARE EXTRAORDINAIRE LOAF PANS. Cover pans to double 45 minutes. Bake 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove and brush with butter. Makes two loaves. Slice and make sandwiches or pull apart at the dinner table. The whole family loves the smell and taste of this very easy and fun to make bread!
