Banana Split Dessert recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 OR 3 BANANAS, SPLIT LENGHTWISE IN 3 PIECES
  • 1/2 GAL.  NEOPOLITAN ICE CREAM
  • 1 CUP  CHOPPED NUTS
  • 1 CUP  CHOCOLATE CHIPS
  • 1/2 CUP  BUTTER
  • 2 CUPS  POWERED SUGAR
  • 1 1/2 CUPS  EVAPORATED MILK
  • 1 TSP. VANILLA
  • 1 PINT  WHIPPING CREAM

Winner of the August 2003 Kaiser Bakeware Recipe Contest
Cover bottom of 10" x 15" jelly roll pan with graham cracker crust. Slice banana and place on top of crust. Slice ice cream in 1/2-inch slices and place on top of bananas. Sprinkle chopped nuts over ice cream and freeze.
Melt chocolate chips, butter and sugar; and milk and bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat about 5 min. Add vanilla; cool. Spoon over ice cream; freeze.
Whip cream and cover chocolate. Top with nuts, chocolate curls, graham cracker crumbs or what-ever. Return to freezer.
