BUTTERMILK MUSTARD, CHEESE AND CHIVE BREAD recipe

Temperature: 375 ° F

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon  thyme
  • 1 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 4 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese , grated
  • 1 tablespoons  dried chives
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray a 12-inch, 8.5 oz. cup, Kaiser Noblesse Traditional German Loaf Pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
Place flour, dry mustard, thyme and salt in a medium-size mixing bowl; stir in butter and beat on slow speed of electric mixer. Add Cheese, chives, buttermilk and egg and beat just until well mixed.
Turn batter into prepared loaf pan; smooth top over with a spatula. Bake on middle shelf of oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until bread is done when touched lightly and springs back. or may be tested by inserting a wooden toothpick into center of loaf and toothpick comes out clean.
Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out onto rack . Serve warm or cool.
